Youth Conference 2015 Q&A - Part 6

How do you get rid of someone after telling them multiple times you're not interested?

This situation happens often. I'm going to assume that you're a girl and the person you're trying to get rid of is a guy. If this is different, mention in the comments below that it's the other way around and I'll address it from that perspective. For some reason there is a brand guy that thinks tenacity is going to win over a girl - like you can wear

How do you know if He's interested in you?

Although every guy is different, I think it's fairly obvious to know if a guy is interested in you.  Assuming that you're ready for marriage, I also think it's important to keep an eye out for a guy who's interested in the right things, things like growing in Christ, taking care of his family, etc. Sure you can watch for clear signs to see if he's interested - like if he's always wanting to chat you up, or if he's willing to come out only if you're going to be there, etc. but far, far more importantly than

How old should you be to date?

As Christians the purpose of dating (or courting in this case) should be marriage. If that's the purpose then you should date when you're ready for marriage, or just about ready. Yo I like this feme. But she got a man.

By and far my favorite wording on any question so far haha. Well, assuming that you're ready for marriage I'll say that there is no direct Biblical identification on what to do in this scenario. At least none that I feel lead to. I've always been of the opinion that if a couple are happy together you should celebrate them, cheer them on and not interfere. If you were in a relationship with a girl would you want another guy to interfere? (Matthew 7:12)

What do you say to couples that start talking at 16 and get married 6 years later. Wasn't it too early?

This is a tricky question because the opinions can be very subjective. But I will say this - couples who court before their ready for marriage will typically have a more difficult time than those who don't. The younger you are the less sense/ wisdom & self control you have, this is why it's necessary to have parents or guardians until each young person becomes an adult.

Youth Conference 2015 Q&A - Part 1

During the West Coast Youth Conference in 2015 I held a seminar on Relationships. You can view it by clicking here. After the short seminar was completed I really wanted to leave more time for Q&A, which I did through the help of Google Voice. Half way through the Q&A session my internet died on my iPad so I finished the questions I had and ended on time. After service though, I checked my cell phone to see how many more questions were asked, and to my surprise I had roughly 124 questions left unanswered. So through a few blogs, I've decided to try and give concise answers here over the next few weeks. Hope this helps.
